JEAN CAVÉ BAS-ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1991

  • Ageing Vintage: eau-de-vie from the 1991 harvest alone, unblended
  • Cask Oak casks, the house cellars at Lannepax (Gers)

Jean Cavé describes the ageing in a few stages: once distillation is complete, the cellar master places the eau-de-vie in local oak casks, where it absorbs tannins and aromas. The 1991 vintage followed this path at Lannepax, never blended with any other year. It makes a fitting gift for someone born that year, for an anniversary celebrated in 1991, or for an enthusiast who enjoys tracing the recent decades of the house. Best served neat, in a tasting glass.

Over the years, the house has assembled one of the most remarkable co…
