DELORD ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1991 MAGNUM 150 CL

  • Ageing eau-de-vie from the 1991 harvest, bottled after several decades of ageing in the cellars
  • Cask aged in Gascon oak casks at the Armagnac Delord cellars in Lannepax

The 1991 vintage from Armagnac Delord is a single-harvest eau-de-vie, distilled and then aged for many years in Gascon oak casks at the family cellars in Lannepax, in the Gers. The nose is elegant and highly aromatic, with notes of stewed fruits (fig, quince) and warm barrel wood (cocoa, vanilla). The palate plays on flavours of roasted coffee, cocoa and spice (liquorice). Bottled at 40% vol., this vintage Armagnac is presented here in a magnum of 150 cl, equally suited to leisurely tasting or as an exceptional gift.

1991 was marked by a late April frost that affected several vineyards across the greater South-West and reduced yields in certain areas. The eaux-de-vie it produced nonetheless display an elegant and powerful profile, with notes of fruit, prune and a subtle woody touch, the palate round, full and generous with hints of candied fruit and spice.

How it is made

Traditional vinification to obtain an aromatic wine, lightly acidic and low in alcohol. Continuous distillation in the traditional Armagnac style: column stills fitted with "spider-leg" plates, ideally suited to the production of aged Armagnacs. Matured in new French oak casks (heavy toast), then finished in "semi-exhausted" or "exhausted" barrels.
