BARON DE SIGOGNAC ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1979
- Cask oak from the Limousin forest
- Grape varieties Ugni Blanc or Baco
- Terroir land of tawny sands
- Distillation continuous Armagnac-type still
Harvested in 1979 on land of tawny sands, this Ugni Blanc or Baco eau-de-vie was distilled in a continuous Armagnac-type still, then aged in Limousin oak casks at Château de Bordeneuve, near Eauze, where Baron de Sigognac ages each vintage separately. Forty-seven years have passed since the harvest, an age at which the Armagnac has gained depth without losing its fruit. The house style is recognisable by its roundness and long finishes. A fine gift for someone close born in 1979, or a worthy addition to a comparative tasting alongside an older vintage from the same house. 70 cl Cognac-style bottle.
