PELLEHAUT ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1974 BRUT DE FÛT
- Cask 400-litre casks, coarse-grained oak from the estate and from Limousin
- Grape varieties Ugni Blanc
- Awards Gold Medal at the International Wine & Spirit Competition 2024
For the 1974 harvest, the Béraut family distilled a pure Ugni Blanc in a traditional wood-fired alambic armagnacais. The domaine's tasting notes describe an amber robe with red glints, a nose of candied fruit, dark tobacco and toasted notes, and a fresh, forthright palate that moves towards gingerbread. The estate's oenologist senses the atmosphere of a lively bistro: strong espresso and blonde tobacco, followed by every nuance of oak. This cask strength eau-de-vie is bottled at 40% vol., its natural degree. The domaine also suggests using it in a Manhattan, alongside a red Floc de Gascogne.
