LAUBADE ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1975

  • Cask Gascony pedunculate oak, 420-litre casks

Harvested from the sandy soils and boulbènes of Sorbets, this eau-de-vie from 1975 comes from a single year, with no blending from any other vintage. It matured in 420-litre casks made from Gascony pedunculate oak, then was bottled at the estate. The house describes it as offering rancio, butter and stewed plum on the nose, with a refined, supple palate carried by vanilla and well-integrated oak. At 40% vol. and in 50 cl, it is a fine format for celebrating a birth, a meeting or a 1975 wedding anniversary.

The year 1975

Vintage good

1975 was a year of cultural turning points, marked by the release of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody and the end of the Vietnam War. In Gascony, the vines yielded a vintage of considerable depth. Aged for over half a century in Gascon oak casks, these eaux-de-vie now display a beautifully mature profile, with notes of candied fruit and gentle spice.
