The palate opens with a frank, powerful attack before giving way to a soft, rounded texture, with echoes of plum and the most delicate touch of oak. A long finish of cocoa, roasted coffee, gentle toasted notes and a refined hint of spice.

Founded in 1832, Castarède is the oldest négociant house in Armagnac. Since 1832, its traditions have remained unbroken. Each winter, the stills bring a warming flame that kindles the spirit, and beneath rafters darkened by centuries of evaporation, the long work of maturation quietly unfolds.
Our House allows its Armagnacs to age well beyond the minimum periods required by law, in pursuit of a rare and exceptional finesse. For over 180 years, first in the cellars at Pont de Bordes on the banks of the Baïse, then at the Bas-Armagnac estate of château de Maniban, the Castarède family has lovingly preserved a singular expertise in the service of Armagnac. Their commitment and passion for Armagnac have never wavered, and the water of immortality has kept alive the enthusiasm of their enduring youth.
