DELORD ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1980
- Ageing Eau-de-vie from the 1980 harvest alone, aged in oak casks
- Cask Oak casks, in the house cellars at Lannepax (Gers)
The 1980 from Delord leans distinctly towards florals. Its tasting notes describe a light amber colour with copper highlights, and a rich, highly complex nose where hyacinth, violet and citrus are all clearly present. The palate is round and supple, adding candied fruits, quince and prune, along with a touch of roasted character; the finish is long and warming. This eau-de-vie from 1980 has never been blended with any other year. Forty-six years on, it is bottled at 40% vol. in a 70 cl basquaise, presented in its wooden case.
