BARON DE SIGOGNAC ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1986
- Cask oak from the Limousin forest
- Grape varieties Ugni Blanc or Baco
- Terroir tawny sands
- Distillation continuous Armagnac-type still
Forty years: that is the age of this 1986 eau-de-vie, and also the age marked by what the French call the emerald wedding anniversary for couples married that year. Made from Ugni Blanc or Baco grown on tawny sands, the harvest was distilled at Château de Bordeneuve, near Eauze, in a continuous Armagnac-type still, then aged on its own in Limousin oak casks. For a fortieth celebration, plan to serve it at the end of the evening: a few centilitres in a tulip glass, served without ice, are enough to mark the moment. The 70 cl bottle, at 40% vol., comes in a wooden box, with the bottling date on the back.
