  • Cask 400-litre casks, large-grain oak from the estate and Limousin
  • Grape varieties Folle Blanche
  • Awards Médaille d'Or aux Talents de l'Armagnac 2019-2020 ; Médaille d'Argent au Concours Général Agricole de Paris 2012

Harvest 1992, under the Armagnac Ténarèze appellation. The estate distils using a traditional continuous Armagnac still, single-heated and wood-fired, then ages its eaux-de-vie in 400-litre large-grain oak casks from the property and from Limousin. The palate is "lively" yet expressive, with fruit-forward notes of peach and greengage.

the vintage

The 1992 vintage

The 1992 vintage seduces with its deep amber colour and golden highlights. The nose unfolds aromas of dried fruits, apricot, quince and prune, with notes of tobacco and leather that carry through on the palate in perfect harmony with the nose, a mark of the fine balance acquired over years of ageing.

Château de Pellehaut stands in Montréal-du-Gers, on the hillsides of the Ténarèze, where clay-limestone soils take over from the sands of the Bas-Armagnac. How it is made

"Pellehaut" takes its name from the Roman or medieval pila. The presence of mosaics depicting vines, two kilometres away at the Gallo-Roman villa of Séviac, suggests that the vine was already growing at Pellehaut in Roman times… The estate extends today over 550 hectares, of which 250 are planted with vines. It is a traditional farming estate managed by two brothers, Martin and Mathieu BERAUT.
