JEAN CAVÉ BAS-ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1973

  • Ageing Vintage: eau-de-vie from the 1973 harvest alone, unblended
  • Cask 'Gros grains' oak, medium toast
  • Distillation Continuous

The 1973 harvest holds a special place at Jean Cavé: alongside those of 1984, 1990 and 2001, it makes up the XXO in the Atelier range. This bottle presents it alone, at natural cask strength, 45.5% vol., following continuous distillation and ageing in 'gros grains' oak casks. It is also the year of the first oil crisis, in the autumn. Olympe decanter, wooden arch presentation. For a 1973 birth or wedding anniversary, or to compare the vintage with the blend it goes into.

Aged for more than half a century in Gascon oak casks, these eaux-de-vie display intense aromas of prunes, liquorice and roasted coffee.
